Studying the effect of Anzali port breakwaters on sedimentation in Anzali wetland using remote sensing

The construction of new breakwaters in Anzali port has had a significant impact on the water body international lagoon. wetland is under threat from sediment influx mountainous regions, and study used satellite image processing to demonstrate how impedes natural transfer lagoon sea. methodology employed hybrid approach combining two methods: normal index (MNDWI) supervised classification (SVM) detect accumulation zone. Following 2009, an island formed expanded exponentially parts Sorkhankol Wildlife Sanctuary's body. This phenomenon attributed decreased flow caused by increased cross-section current volume water, creating dam-like function against channel leading Consequently, sediments suspended loads settle Sorkhankol's zone, increase area 0.39 hectares over 26 during studied period. Result showed Kappa coefficients SVM algorithm for years 2002, 2010, 2012 2017 which were found be 0.76, 0.62, 0.71 0.86 respectively indicating that outperforms MNDWI effectively monitoring landform changes.
